The Gloster apple were developed in Germany in 1951 from a cross between Richared Delicious and Weisser Winterglockenapf. A known German variety widely cultivated in Ukraine and harvested in October.
The apples are cone-shaped, ribbed and green with a large dark red blush, they have dark red skin. Gloster Apples are medium-sized apples, about the same shape as a Red Delicious apple.
The flesh of the fruit is greenish-white, compact, fine-grained, firm, distinctly acidulous and very tasty. Their green-tinted flesh is finely textured and sweet. They are best used as a fresh-eating apple.
The fruits are very resistant to transport and are perfect for storage.
