Hair extensions or weaves, come in different textures and colors. Extensions are wefted, means they are held together firmly on the head with a band, and bulk, means a free load of hair. Many home practitioners choose to have wefted extensions that can either be glued or clipped into the hairline. Bulk extensions usually need to be stand bonded or braided, which is something that is done by many hair care professionals. Wigs are basically complete hair pieces which are typically made from synthetic materials, human hair, or the mane of an animal. Two types of wigs are used: “lace wig” which is cut and glued down to the hairline, and “skin-top wig” that is attached using pins and combs. Wigs usually come in several sizes to ensure an amazing fit. The best way to decide someone’s size is to take a seamstress tape and measure the head from the forehead and follow the hairline around the back till the end.
