Hello! My name is Tim. I am from the USA. i moved to Asia a few years ago. I met a wonderful Indonesian Girl and bought a house in Indonesia Next to a Coffee farm. Once i seen the impact on the underpaid farmers living and working in poor conditions. I felt like, as a guest in this Country, that has been raped of its resources by Big Businesses, hording massive profit and leaving so little for the farmer, that it was my turn to make a difference. In Indonesia, I was shocked to see how respectful and kind the locals treated me. however, it was Businessmen like me, that created hardship for them by buying products for Penney on the dollar, and marking them up to astronomical prices, leaving the locals with just enough to get by while we load our bank accounts and buy un-needed items to help us look richer than the man standing next to us. Many Coffee Businesses are making a stand to support the farmers and give them a better opportunity to profit and create a better quality of coffee. Without this support, they are unable to adapt to the rapid weather changes that greatly impact the harvest and it’s getting worse every year. I feel very lucky to have moved rite next door to one of the very few and last Great Quality Coffee farms. Sometimes I spend hours wondering the trails and admiring the beauty of the landscape, taking in the peace and harmony of this little village, shedding off the stress and hustle of monetary world we have grown accustomed to. I truly love this place and have decided to give back. I don’t need a BMW. for the price of a BMW, I could Hugely create a positive impact to our peaceful little village and drive a Honda, knowing that the village will be for years to come. Even if you do not buy from me, I encourage you to buy from a coffee business that supports our farmers. Cheap Coffee is easy to find and there is a lot of it. However, Good quality Coffee is a lot harder. it takes money to produce a good crop and a great Quality coffee. I am a very big believer in this because I can look out my window and see it.
