The silk is a natural fiber formed by proteins. Also known as silk is the wide variation of fabrics made with this fiber. Although it is made by different groups of arthropods animals, such as spiders and various insects, most recently only the silk which is made by the larvae - the "Silkworm" - is used in manufacturing textile industry. There has been some research in search of other types of silks with different properties, which differ at the molecular level.
