The viscose is an organic liquid viscous used in the manufacture of rayon and cellophane. The rayon itself, in Europe, was called viscose. The cellulose, fibers from wood or cotton, treated with sodium hydroxide, and then mixed with carbon disulfide to form xanthate cellulose, which is then dissolved in more sodium hydroxide.
