Cassia is harvested in 3 main crops thorough a year, which are approximately March - June - August of the lunar calendar. At the age of 7 years and above, cassia trees can be exploited for the bark. Barking technique: Normally, cassia bark is taken in lengths of about 45 -50 cm. The bark close to the root, trunk, and branches gives different concentrations of essential oils.

Basically, the natural, manual method of drying is applied most of the times to give the cassia the best quality and color. Kiln-drying is only applied at times of unfavorable weather.
