Cherry

There are about 150 species of the genus Cherry (Cerasus L). The most common of these are; Kamkhastak cherry, Dasht cherry, Jaydari bitter cherry, Amoreli, Moreli, Shishasimon cherry, American sand cherry, Toshchiya cherry, Gujumchiya and Govchiya cherry. There are more than 1,500 varieties of cherries. Many of them were produced as a result of a long process of popular selection. V. Michurin has created a of wonderful varieties. Cherry fruit differs from other berries by the length of the fruit band. Its second difference is that the fruit is very small. Tree-shaped ones live longer. Their branches are sparse and grow in a sada shape and a pyramidal shape. When cherries are attached to their twigs and seedlings from their seeds, the trees that grow from them live for 20-25 years, and the trees that are attached to the stems grow higher and live longer. Some trees, which grow short, produce many twigs.

Cherry is second only to apples in terms of area occupied. This crop is also grown in the northern regions as it is resistant to frost and winter.

The fruits of some varieties of cherries, especially hybrids of cherries are eaten fresh and used as raw material in industry. Cherries grow in Uzbekistan, especially in Samarkand region, are mainly peeled. Cherry fruit contains 8.1-17.5% of sugar, 0.92-2.82% of various acids, 0.16-0.36% of additives.
