Bitter Kola, also known as Garcinia kola, is a plant found in Central and Western Africa. Bitter kola reddish yellow seeds have a sharp, bitter, astringent, aromatic flavor; somewhat resembling that of a raw coffee bean that eases into a slight sweetness with a lingering pepperiness as you chew. Virtually every part of the bitter kola tree has been known for its medicinal value.
Bitter kola are use in preparation of drugs in the rmaceutical industry. It has been used over the years to fight infections from common cold to hepatitis, bacterial infections, and viral infections. It is also used in production of energy and cola soft drinks.
