Ciprofloxacin is a type of antibiotics and a broad-spectrum anti-bacterial.

It is an isotonic, sterile aqueous solution of ciprofloxacin lctate, a potent fluoroquinolone derivative with bactericidal activity against a wide range of grampositive & gram negative pathogenic bacteria. It inhibitis bacterial DNA gyrase (Topoisomerase II), the enzyme responsible for introducing negative supercoils into the bacterial DNA. This leads to disruption

of DNA structure and the death of bacteria.
