In Dutch Colonial
time, The Colonial carried container from Ethiopia in the form of coffee plant seeds. They
were planted arabica coffee in Plaga. When entering harvest period, the colonial was very
excited with the taste and aroma of coffee produced in this area.
PLAGA
The Colonial impose forced labor to Baople in order to produced more coffee
beans. In 1885, Hemilia Vastatrix (Leaf Rust) attacked coffee plants in Plaga induced
destruction of coffee farms. The Colonial decided to burn down all coffee plants in Plaga.
Since that time, The Colonial looked for new land to planted coffee in Bali and left Plaga. In 2009, Plaga tried to get up and re-cultivate arabica coffee which has been left for years
