CRUDE PALM OIL

Crude palm oil is the oil derived by mechanical extraction from the fleshy pulp (mesocarp) of the fruit of Elaeis guineensis. The colour of Crude Palm Oil shall be bright, clear and orange-red. All palm oil products shall be free from foreign and rancid odour. Crude Palm Oil (CPO) of good merchantable quality, in bulk, unbleached in Port Tank installations approved by the exchange located at the option of the seller at Port Klang, Penang/Butterworth, Pasir Gudang Johor. Free Fatty Acids (FFA) of palm oil delivered into Port Tank installations shall not exceed 4% and from Port Tank installations shall not exceed 5%. Moisture content shall not exceed 0.25%. Deterioration of Bleachability Index (DOBI) value of palm oil delivered into Port Tank installations shall be at a minimum 2.5 and of palm oil delivered from Port Tank Installations shall be at a minimum of 2.31.

Crude Palm Oil shall be processed and packaged under hygienic conditions in licensed premises as imposed by the Laws in Malaysia, Public Health Legislation & Codes of Practices. The product shall be supplied in bulk or in rust-free steel drums, or as agreed upon between the buyer and the supplier.

The product shall comply with current Malaysian Food Regulations 1985 on labelling. The package shall be marked legibly and indelibly with

a) Name of the productb) Weight of the productc) Producer's name and address or trade-markd) Month and year of manufacture and lot identification or code

e) Country of origin

The products, at the time of shipment as per current trade practice, i.e. at the point and time of delivery of the oil from sellers' tanks, whether ex-refinery, ex-bulking installation, or otherwise, as the case may be, shall conform to the requirements.

Each product may, by arrangement with a recognized certification body, be marked with the certification mark of that body, provided the product conforms to the requirements of the Malaysian Standard. The product may be certified Halal by a recognized authority.
