Ammonium sulfate is one of the sulfate compounds with the chemical formula NH4 (2SO4). This compound is used in agriculture, food industry, water purification, leather tanning, fire retardant agent in fabrics and additive in animal feed. The most common application of ammonium sulfate is as a chemical fertilizer, which contains 21% nitrogen and 24% sulfur. This fertilizer is used in nitrogen deficient soils.
