A door closer ensures the safe and self-closing closing of a door. Simple mechanical door closers ensure both the movement of the door leaf into the door frame as well as the fall of the door latch lock in the striking plate even with a light headwind/pull. The closing of doors can be done on the one hand using single-part and undamped door closers, for example, when delimiting animal gates. A more reliable solution is the use of so-called overhead door closers, which consist of two separate components. With the door locks placed on the door leaf, the more complex door locks, which are convincing regarding appearance and design, can be distinguished with slide rails for door handles with linkages. Visually more intimate are integrated door closers, which are installed completely in the door leaf. The slide rail is therefore only visible when the door is open.
