Tungsten rod is produced from tungsten powder. After press and sinter, tungsten rods can be forged, machined or grinded or extruded.

Tungsten rods can be used as inserts for resistance welding electrodes, discharge electrodes, anchors for electronic tubes, tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) rods, and probe pins.
