Citrate
Citrate (Clomid) is a popular Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM) that is used by many performance enhancing athletes. While many users use it, Citrate is not an ; SERMââ¬â¢s are just that, SERMââ¬â¢s and do not fall into the steroidal category. Originally developed to treat fertility issues in women, and sometimes used for specific breast cancer treatment plans, you will find more Citrate in performance circles than anywhere else. Of course, you may be asking an important question; if itââ¬â¢s not a why do so many users use it?
Citrate offers two benefits to the performance enhancing athlete with one being primary. Most commonly, this SERM is used for post cycle recovery purposes; specifically to stimulate natural production that has been suppressed due to the use of steroids. Without question, this is one of the best SERMââ¬â¢s on earth for this purpose, and is perfect for any Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plan.
While PCT plans are the most common point of use among users, many will use Citrate to combat on cycle gynecomastia. Gynecomastia refers to male breast enlargement, one of the more common side effects brought by excess estrogen, and less commonly by progesterone. When it comes to estrogen induced gynecomastia, this is where Citrate will prove to be valuable, and while it cannot reverse the condition it has the ability to prevent it before it occurs.
Citrate is not the only SERM on the market that can serve the above purposes. Another popular SERM itââ¬â¢s often compared to is Tamoxifen Citrate (Nolvadex). For all intense purposes, these two SERMââ¬â¢s are interchangeable; however, most will find Nolvadex is superior for on cycle gynecomastia protection. As for PCT use, both can get the job done equally well; however, Citrate must be used in larger doses for this purpose as the two SERMââ¬â¢s do not carry equal strength on a per milligram basis.
Extremely beneficial, Citrate is not without possible side effects. Even so, as we will see the side effects of Citrate are rare, and in most cases quite mild if they happen at all. When used as a performance enhancing drug itââ¬â¢s best served by being used by healthy adult men. Women can use it in some cases for performance purposes, but itââ¬â¢s normally not needed, and as for children it cannot be recommended due to damage to the underdeveloped androgen system.
With all of this in mind, we want to take a direct look at Citrate. We want to look at this SERMââ¬â¢s direct traits and functions, explain how and why they work, and of course, how you can maximize this SERMââ¬â¢s use. Further, weââ¬â¢ll look at all the possible side effects, and of course, inform you on what you can do in order to avoid and combat them.
