In the last chapter, we learned about two reasons for excessive vibration of slurry pumps: the shaft is too long and the bracket or foundation is not fixed properly. Today we will analyze some other reasons.
1. The reason for the coupling. The coupling has poor circumferential spacing with the connecting bolts and the symmetry is destroyed. If the coupling extension section is eccentric, it will generate eccentric force and make the coupling taper worse. The static balance or dynamic balance of the coupling is not good, and the fit between the elastic pin and the coupling is too tight, causing the elastic pin to lose its elastic adjustment function and causing the coupling to be difficult to center. Another reason is that the matching gap between the coupling and the shaft is too large. The mechanical wear of the coupling rubber ring causes the matching performance of the coupling rubber ring to decrease. These problems will cause the slurry pump to vibrate.
2. Factors of the slurry pump itself. The asymmetric pressure field generated when the impeller rotates can cause the slurry pump to vibrate. The occurrence and disappearance of vortices generated when the impeller, volute, and guide vanes rotate; cavitation caused by transporting high-temperature slurry will also cause vibration of the slurry pump.
