Material selection for anti-corrosion slurry pumps

We know that slurry pumps are widely used in coal washing plants, mining plants, electric power, water conservancy, environmental protection and other industries. Since the material transported by the slurry pump is slurry containing particulate matter, the most important feature of the slurry pump is wear resistance. In fact, in addition to being wear-resistant, a slurry pump also needs to be corrosion-resistant. So for wear resistance, we know that there are high chromium alloy materials and natural rubber materials. So what are the corrosion-resistant materials?

Nowadays, the materials we commonly use in corrosive working conditions are A49 materials. If the corrosiveness is not strong, natural rubber materials can also be used. The price of natural rubber material is slightly lower than that of A49 material. Therefore, the main thing is to choose the material based on the corrosion strength of the slurry.

Another point is that the shaft sealing method generally used in this working condition is mostly mechanical sealing, because this kind of seal can be leak-proof and can prevent slurry from leaking out and causing unnecessary damage.
