The SPM is spliced with galvanized thimbles at both ends and is covered with polyester coat around the ends that are not less than 6mm.Elastomer is also used to enchance the anti-chafe level.Hawser  should be fitted with tubular floats commencing from chafe protection fo one end and ends at 25ft from the thimble of other end.
