nibutum (β-nyl-GABA, β-nyl-γ-aminobutyric acid, Noofen, Bifren) is an analogue of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA. The addition of a nyl ring allows nibutum to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB).
