LATEX BOND

Latex is a stable dispersion (emulsion) of polymer micro particles in an aqueous medium. It is found in nature, but synthetic latexes can be made by polymerizing a monomer such as styrene that has been emulsified with surfactants.

Rubber-based latex adhesive products are made from natural or synthetic elastomers which have been tackified with the inclusion of various additives and resins. Rubber adhesives are cost-effective and have exnt tack and shear properties.

Latex adhesives are safe to use and do not cause curling up. They do however take longer to dry and may not stand up to immersion in water.
