Amoxycillin is a broad spectrum penicillins (betalactam
bactericidal antibiotics). It has greater activity against gramnegative
bacteria such as E.coli and Salmonella.
Cloxacillin is a narrow spectrum semisynthetic penicillins, It is
effective against penicillinase producing bacteria.
Mechanism of Action of Penicillin:
It acts by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial wall. It
inhibits cross-linkage between the ptidoglycan polymer
chains, which is a major component of the wall of both
Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
