"Okuizome" is the Japanese ritual of "the first meal" when a baby becomes 100 days old, wishing for the baby having no trouble eating food throughout his or her life. (* It's an imitation of eating food as a baby can't eat in reality in this period.)Â
Lacquer tableware for boys is vermillion both outside and inside; for girls, the outside is black and the inside vermillion.  This set is for girls. Comes with instructions for each tableware. (in Japanese only)
The size is approximate. Do not use a dishwasher, microwave, oven, etc. Do not expose to direct fire. Do not use a scrubbing brush or abrasive. You can use a neutral detergent.
