BTMS-50 adds a silky feel to lotions and hair care products.
Products with BTMS-50 incorporated tend to have a light, whipped appearance.
Commonly used in hair conditioners, lotions and scrubs. Behentrimonium Methosulfate is a strong conditioning agent and emulsifier. BTMS-50 is a blend of Behentrimonium methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol and butylene glycol, and is supplied in pellets. BTMS-50 is derived from vegetable oils such as canola, coconut or sunflower. Typical use rates are 1- 10% depending on the type of product being made and function; lower levels are used if BTMS-50 is being used as an emulsifier (1 – 6%) and higher levels for conditioning (2 – 10%).
