PSA Nitrogen Generator Principles:

PSA nitrogen generator uses a carbon molecular sieve as sorbent and produces nitrogen by making use of the PSA principle. Under certain pressure, a carbon molecular sieve has different oxygen/nitrogen adsorption capacity, i.e. much more oxygen adsorption capacity than nitrogen adsorption capacity. PLC controls the pneumatic valve on/off to realize two towers alternate adsorption and desorption as per pressure change, carries out oxygen/nitrogen separation, and produces nitrogen with desired purity.PSA Nitrogen Generator incorporates one air compressor, refrigerant air dryer and filters, main nitrogen generator, air buffer tank, and nitrogen buffer tank. With higher nitrogen pressure required, one BROTIE totally oil-free nitrogen compressor will be equipped after the nitrogen generator to increase the nitrogen pressure to the required pressure.Compressed air is purified through the air dryer and filters to a certain level for the main generator to work with. Air buffer is incorporated for a smooth supply of compressed air thus reducing the fluctuation of work demand for air compressors. The generator produces nitrogen with PSA (pressure swing adsorption) technology, a time-proven nitrogen generation method. Nitrogen with a desired purity is delivered to a nitrogen buffer tank for a smooth supply of product gas. Nitrogen in the buffer tank is maintained at 6barg pressure. After a totally oil-free nitrogen compressor, the pressure will be compressed to the required pressure. It is adjustable for you to adjust the outlet pressure by a pressure regulator valve, so that it can be used for your specific use.

Oxygen has a higher adsorption rate than nitrogen. When compressed air enters CMS, nitrogen molecules are able to pass through this large surface. And oxygen molecules are adsorbed to the surface area.As the CMS is saturated with oxygen, it should be depressurized to regenerate for the next cycle. We use two towers filled with CMS to produce a continuous stream of nitrogen.During depressurization, the nitrogen of lower purity than required is transferred to another tower called pressure equalization.
