Sapropel, in addition to various organic compounds, contains almost the entire complex of minerals, trace necessary for the growth of crops, and at the same time they are all completely absorbed by plants. This compares favorably with sapropels from a complex of loose mineral fertilizers - nitrogen-srus-potash, a large part of which remains in the soil and is then washed into ground and surface waters.
