Pregabalin, CAS 148553-50-8 a non-gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor agonist or antagonist, is a novel calcium channel modulator, which can block voltage-dependent calcium channels and reduce the release of neurotransmitters. It is mainly used in the clinical practice for neuralgia associated with diabetic periral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and adjuvant treatment of adult partial seizures, generalized anxiety disorder, central neuralgia (including neuralgia associated with spinal cord injury, stroke, and multiple sclerosis), and fibromyalgia.
[ Indications ]Pregabalin is mainly used for the treatment of periral neuralgia and adjuvant treatment of localized partial seizures.
