BUTTERFLY VALVE

Butterfly valves are recently have been in trends due to their very thin profile between flanges that makes the valves lighter in weight and create very small instant footprint. And this design of the valve makes its cost lower if compared with other valves. There are various types of butterfly valves and each of them has very unique design and features. Some of them are:

1) CONCENTRIC DISC BUTTERFLY VALVE

Concentric Disc Butterfly Valve is mainly used in water treatment and also in other industries due to its unique features like light in weight, small size, easy to install and very low cost. The common design of the butterfly valve is called Concentric Disc Butterfly Valve. In this valve the stem is centered in the middle of the valve disc which is in middle of the pipe bore.

These valves are provided with integrally moulded its body h elastomer for perfect seating and complete isolation of body material. There are No gaskets necessary as the body vide a perfect seal between the body valve and pipe flanges. Valves are designed and manufactured as per BS 5155/API 609/AWWA C504. The valves are available for all fluid service requirements with suitable body sc material combinations for up to 210o deg.C in PN6, PN 10, PN 16, ANSI 125 & 150 rating. Other special materials and design are also provided according to the customer’s requirement.

2) OFFSET DISC BUTTERFLY VALVE

The stem in the offset disc butterfly valve is located behind the disc. There are few, if any, valves of this type left on the market today due to the development of the double-offset, or high- performance, valve. In the offset disc butterfly valve the stem grounds the disc to get in touch with 3-4 degrees left to travel with the design that get less in touch will enable the valve to last longer.

Offset Disc Butterfly valves are designed to withstand higher pressure than the concentric disc design. In this design, the disc remains in with the seat only during closing of the valve. Due to this design, the seat lasts for longer period than in Concentric Disc design. Offset disc butterfly valves are suitable to replace the sealing en required. The offset disc butterfly valve is available in Double offset and triple offset The triple offset valve is used in similar industries as the double offset butterfly valve, but in more demanding applications.

Double Offset Disc Butterfly Valve:

The double-offset or high-performance butterfly valve has a disc with two offsets. The double- offset butterfly valve is used in systems requiring higher pressure resistance. Double-offset Butterfly Valves are available in a large range of materials required for critical process in diverse industries such as Cement, Power, Chemicals & fertilizer, Water treatment, etc

Triple Offset Disc Butterfly Valve:

Triple eccentric (offset) Design prevents galling and scratches between the metal seat and the metal disc due to its unique design. The seats are either laminated or solid metal seat design. The only time where the seal comes into with the seat is at the point of complete closure. Triple offset valves are generally used in applications which require bi-directional tight shut-off in oil and gas, LNG/NPG terminal and tanks, chemical factories, and shipbuilding.
