IDENTIFICATIONA. Solution S (see Tests) gives the reactions of sultes.B. Solution S gives the reaction of aluminium.C. Shake 10 ml of solution S with 0.5 g of sodium bicarbonate R and filter. The filtrate gives reaction (a) of potassium.
TESTSSolution SDissolve 2.5 g in water R and dilute to 50 ml with the same solvent.Appearance of solutionSolution S is clear and colourless./u>: 3.0 to 3.5.Ammonium: Maximum 0.2 per cent.Iron: Maximum 100 ppm.Heavy metals: Maximum 20 ppm.
