Characteristics and applications

Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic derivative of Pleuromutilin. It is highly active against gram-positive organisms such as streptococci, stalococci and against mycoplasmas and serpulina (Treponema) hyodysenteriae. A of Shigella, Klebsiella and E. coli are also quite susceptible to this agent. Some anaerobic species including Bacteroides fragilis and Clostridium perfringens with no exception are sensitive to tiamulin.

Tiamulin acts bacteriostatically. The biochemical basis for the antibacterial action is inhibition of protein synthesis, by binding to 70S ribosomes.

Tiamulin is used for prevention and control of mycoplasmal diseases such as enzootic pneumonia and chronic respiratory disease in pigs and poultry; and swine dysentery, porcine colonic spirochaetosis and porcine proliferative enteropathy.

Storage / transportion

It should be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse and avoid sundry odors pollution. Sunlight and rain should be prevented during transportation.

Usage

Use for stress reaction, cough before or after injection of vaccine, able to cure various of acute or chronical respiratory tract disease.

Mix with water: 100g with 180-200KG water, double dosage if there is no antibiotics such as salinomycin, ryemycin, monensin used in feed.

Antibiotic medicines. For chicken chronic respiratory disease, swine mycoplasma pneumonia and Haemolus pleural pneumonia, can also be used for swine dysentery caused by Treponema

Description

The most efficient biological activity of Tiamulin is evident in the area of mycoplasmas control, surpassing such antibiotics as Tetracycand Tylosin tartrate, the two antibiotics widely used for the treatment of infections. The MIC values of Tiamulin against strains of mycoplasmas range from 0.004 to 6.25ug/ml.

Dont use together with polyether ionores such as Monesin, Salinomycin etc.

Dont touch with eyes and skin.
