ACTIONS

Colistin belongs to the antibiotic of polymixin group acting mainly against Gram-negative bacteria,such as :E.coli, Enterobacter aerogenes,Salmonella,Haemous spp.,Shigella,Pasteurella,Pseudomonas aerugi-nosa,but almost there is no activity with Gram-positive one and cocci.As it is not absorbed from the gastro-intestiinal tract,it is developing its main action in the intestinal against different E.coli and Salmonella strains and enterobacter.

INDICATIONS

Colistin may be used especially in treatment and prevention of infections of gatrointestinal tract,or to suppress colonic flora:Colibacillosis,salmo-nellosis,pullorum,pasteurellosis in all species animals and poultry,particulary in new -born animals.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Dissolve in drinking water or mixing in feed.

Recommended does is 100000 IU Colistin sulfate/kg b.w for consecutive 3-5days.

Calves:1g per 1-2litter of drinking water,for 3-5days

Poultry:2g per 1litter of drinking water,for 3-5days

Piglets:1g per 1-2 litter of drinking water for 3-5days

Preparing fresh medicine solution before use is required.
