Elgiloy is a cobalt-chromium-nickel (Co-Cr-Ni) nox . It exhibits good mechanical properties, high strength, and ductility, good fatigue life, and can be age-hardened. Elgiloy is ideal for manufacturing custom springs and custom metal stampings for applications that require high corrosion resistance and/or low relaxation at temperatures up to 600 F (316 C).
Use in Springs ,Seal components, Medical devices, Components for watches, Aerospace applications, Petro-chemical applications, Marine engineering.
The alloy is first melted using Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) techniques. A secondary melt operation, Electro Slag Remelt (ESR), is then employed to further remove impurities and improve overall homogeneity.
