Because HEC has good properties of thickening, suspending, dispersing, emulsifying, bonding, film forming, protecting moisture and providing protective colloids, it has been widely used in petroleum mining, coatings, construction, medicine, food, textile, paper and other fields.
HEC has twice the water retention capacity than methyl lose and it has good flow regulation.
HEC has poor dispersibility compared to methyllose and hydroxypropyl methyllose, but has the strongest colloid protective capacity.
Advantage
Can be used in a wide range of values (= 2-12).
Easy to disperse, can be added as slurry or use dry powder directly during the grinding of the pigment.
Good Constructability: It has labor saving, is not easy to drip and sag. Good resistance to splashing.
It has good compatibility with various surfactants and preservatives used in emulsion paint.
The stored viscosity stability is good
