Coal tar pitch is the residual component extracted from light components of coal tar, and also its heavy component. According to the softening point, coal tar pitch is divided into low temperature aslt, medium temperature aslt and high temperature aslt. The components of coal tar pitch are very complex, mainly polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons above four rings, including hetero atomic compounds containing oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur.
