3-Methylmethcathinone, also known as and 3-Medrone,[1] is a designer drug from the substituted family, with Empathogen-entactogen effects. is closely related in structure to the popular illicit drug medrone (4-MMC), and is illegal in most countries that have banned 3-medrone as it is a structural isomer of 4-medrone. However has still appeared on the "legal high" market as an alternative to medrone, and was first identified being sold in Sweden in 2012.[2] Unlike other legal highs was tested and characterized in large mammals,[3] providing much more knowledge about it than is known about other synthetic cathinones.
