Hi there, I'm looking to have samples made for our next project. The product was originally a brass pen, and now redeveloped as a mechanical pencil in various materials. COM projects cowellstudio kensa-the-hexagonal-brass-pen-adaptable-to-you We're looking for samples of; - The pen, the adjuster and locking nut in stainless, brass and aluminium - The Mechanical pencil the adjuster and locking nut in stainless, brass and aluminium - The clip in aluminium - The spacers in aluminium The design is based on being turned from 8mm hex stock, and previously every component has been turned out of this. Although I understand the clip will be different. If you could provide guidance on exact material spec that would be appreciated. Previously CZ121 brass, 304 stainless, and 2011 ali have been used. Initially we're looking for single samples of the pen and pencil with it's components in each material, so if you interested and could review the parts and put together a quote that would be great. Further to this another quote showing unit cost fo of each would also be good to ensure accurate pricing for the next crowd funding campaign. Previous concerns and issues have been that; -The barrels needs very deep holes drilling, leading to wandering. It's caused no issues previously as the hole is simply a relief for the ink cartridge pencil insert, so variations in tolerance provide no problem. - Cutting an M7X1.0 thread into a 6.5mm hole does not leave you with a full female thread. Again, no issues have arisen from this, there is little strain on the part or thread. Usually we commission samples, use them to produce the product campaign and receive pre-orders based on these. We then raise a purchase order, in this case I'd expect minimum orders of 750 - 1250 units, with extra for stock. I've included as much information as possible in the file attached, reference tos for surface finish and knurling, tos of previous prototypes, working drawings and STP's.
