Closed tank side sampling system Basic Requirements 3.4.1} The Closed Tank Side Sampling System shall conform to JIG 2: Issue 12 requirements. 3.4.2} The Closed Tank Side Sampling System shall meet the following requirements: A. Closed Tank Side Sampling System and associated accessories shall be designed for AVTUR (Jet A-1) service. B. The area classification for the Closed Tank Side Sampling System shall be Zone 2. 3.4.3} The Closed Tank Side Sampling System shall be furnished complete with all necessary equipment and accessories, so as to only require connection to the existing pipework at site. 3.5 Technical Requirements for the Visijar or Equivalent 3.5. 1} the working capacity of the Visijar shall be 80 litres. 3.5. 2] Material of construction shall be toughened borosilicate glass tube, with stainless steel support frame, base and top section. 3.5. 3} the inlet and outlet flanges shall conform to ANSI B16.5 specifications. All flange connections shall be Raised Face (RF). 3.5. 4} the inlet pipework should be flanged and fitted with a 2- inch spring closed ball valve. 3.5. 5} The Visijar shall be fitted with a sampling point operated by a spring closed ball valve complete with dust cap for sampling into a suitable container. 3.5. 6} The Visijar shall be fitted with a provision to conduct the Shell Water Detector test. 3.5. 7] all valves supplied with the Visijar assembly shall be spring closed ball valves with sealing material suitable for Jet A-1 service. 3.6 Technical Requirements for the Product Recovery Vessel 3.6. 1} the product recovery vessel shall have a capacity of 350 litres (3 No) and 200 litres (2 No) for receiving and issuing tanks respectively. 3.6. 2] the vessel shall be constructed from stainless steel (at least 4mm thick), with a reinforced sight glass along the entire length 3.6. 3} Each vessel shall be constructed with a cone down bottom with a capacity of at least 28 litres and be fitted with a sampling point, operated by a spring closed ball valve complete with dust cap for sampling into a suitable container. 3.6. 4} The vessel shall have a hinged inspection cover to enable easy tank cleaning, with a counterweight to aid easy lifting and be lockable in an open position. 3.6.5} the vessel inlet pipe shall be side oriented to ensure a vortex is created and be fitted with a vortex breaker required during pump out. 3.6. 6} A removable funnel with a mesh strainer screen and extended down pipe shall be provided for sample disposal.
