The wines from In Vino are made from the best grapes grown in Santa Marta de Penaguião, in the sub-region of the "Baixo Corgo", birthplace of the Demarcated Region of the Douro.
The Neves Ferreira siblings have a strong connection to the Douro, in particular to their estate, Quinta do Espinho, which has belonged to the family for six generations. The estate is located in Santa Marta de Penaguião over the Bom Viver ("Good Living") place.
Dating back from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, its winemaking facilities are typical of the Douro's "Quintas", originally designed for the production of Port wine. It has a warehouse of oak vats and an impressive house with traditional granite presses, besides other infrastructure related to viticulture and buildings for housing.
The vines are planted in parcels with different grape varieties and different ages, varying from 15 to more than 75 years old. The main red wine grape varieties are Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Barroca. The main white wine grapes are Viozinho, Gouveio and Malvasia fina. In addition to the blend of grape varieties in the old vineyards, which contribute to the complexity of the wines, the beautiful high trellised grapevines (the "ramadas") adorn the pathways and create pleasant shady areas from where to contemplate the landscape protected from the hot summer sun.
One of In Vino's main objectives is to produce high quality wines, which it wishes to share with the world, spreading what is produced in one of the most iconic wine regions of the world.
