EDFA Optical Amplifier for DWDM

EDFA Optical Amplifier module provide multi-function, low noise, Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) solutions, The amplifier module can be operated at constant gain (Automatic Gain Control AGC), constant output power (Automatic Power Control, APC). Integrated VOA can be automatically adjusted to achieve smooth gain spectrum. It can amplify the C-Band signal with or w/o middle stage access (MSA), which brings great flexibility for the network application. 

Many model options serve all the traditional amplifier applications in an extended optical link: booster, in-line, and pre-amplifier.

A booster amplifier operates at the transmission side of the link. It features high input power, high output power, and medium optical Gain . Boosters are designed to amplify aggregated optical input power for reach extension.

An in-line amplifier operates in the middle of an optical link. It features medium to low input power, high output power, high optical Gain , and a low noise figure. In-line amplifiers are designed for optical amplification between two network nodes on the main optical link.

A Pre-amplifier operates at the receiving end of an optical link. It features medium to low input power, medium output power, and medium Gain. Pre-amplifiers are designed for optical amplification to compensate for losses in a demultiplexer located near the optical receiver.

Some EDFA Models include an additional mid-stage port designed for insertion of a Dispersion Compensation Management (DCM) unit without its inherent insertion loss. The design of these models maximizes the DCM benefits to increase deployment flexibility. New placement options require fewer amplifiers in the link, and they can open the door to applications that were not possible with older technology.

Some EDFA Models include a Red and a blue port designed for Single fiber DWDM Solution. The design of these models is used for single-fiber DWDM transmission systems.

The Dispersion Compensation Modules are building blocks of the HT6000 Optical Transport System and serve at optical communication nodes to correct the pulse spread phenomenon known as Chromatic Dispersion that reduces the maximal transmission distance of data in optical fibers.

HTF optical compensation function with slope dispersion compensation for standard single-mode fiber can DCM (G.652) were dispersion and dispersion slope compensation broad band in the C-band, allowing the system to optimize residual dispersion.  

In the dispersion compensation value of 1545nm wavelength dispersion can reach -2070ps /nm.

The DCMs offer a high dispersion compensation level and a very low insertion loss penalty. They provide negative dispersion compensation over the full C-Band with possible distance extensions of up to 80 kilometers.

OLP Optical Line Protection in DWDM/OTN system

Optical Line Protection (OLP) system is a new optical line protection subsystem developed with advanced technology of dynamic and synchronous optical switches. When communication quality is lower or equipment breaks down due to accidental fracture or bigger loss of optical fiber in the optical transmission line, the OLP system can switch the primary line to the secondary line within a short time, to ensure normal operation communication of line, which effectively prevent fiber or equipment fault and shorten the recovery time from hours to milliseconds.

Optical Line Protection switch provides both Manual and Automatic switching mode. In Manual mode, the system switches optical path only based on the commands from user.

In the Automatic mode, the system switches based on the power level detected and the preset threshold. Under automatic mode, the system can be set to be revertive or Non-revertive modes.

Under Revertive mode, the system switches back to the working path automatically after the fault condition is cleared. Under Non-revertive mode, the system does not switch back. The OLP models fit HT6000 Series CH04, CH08, CH20 Chassis.

Single fiber OLP Optical Line Protection

Traditional OLP protection requires four valuable core resources. However, in many places, due to insufficient fiber resources, it is impossible to provide excess fiber resources and optical line redundancy protection.

In view of the shortage of optical fiber resources and need to optical line redundancy protection, our company has developed BIDI OLP equipment to solve the problem of optical line protection in the case of insufficient optical cable resources.

OLP-BIDI only needs two fibers to realize the optical line protection function. When the main circuit fiber fails, the receiving end automatically switches to the standby fiber receiving, ensuring communication without blocking operation, improving communication system stability and reliability. It also saves fiber resources.

SOA Optical Amplifier

HTF launched SOA series optical amplifier products can be 1290nm ~1320nm wavelength range to achieve amplification. It can be easily used in 100G transmission system, the maximum can support 160G/s rate. SOA optical amplifier can be used for booster amplification, pre-amplification and other occasions.
