Jumbo Pistachio ( Kaleh Ghochi )

Jumbo Pistachio (Kaleh Ghochi) is one of the most well-known and the largest pistachio and also one of the most commercial and economical types of pistachios in Iran. This type of pistachio is round, spherical, and similar to Round Pistachio (Fandoghi), but is larger and heavier than Round Pistachio (Fandoghi), and its ounce is lower per kilo. There are about 700-800 pistachios per kilogram, which is less than Round Pistachio (Fandoghi). The popularity of Jumbo Pistachio (Kaleh Ghochi) is because of the large size of its kernel and its delicious taste. The main feature of Jumbo Pistachio (Kaleh Ghochi) is the special sunken hole on top of its bone shell, which distinguishes this type of pistachio from other types. This hole or wrinkle not only makes the Jumbo Pistachio’s (Kaleh Ghochi) fruit more beautiful, but it is also the main factor in distinguishing this pistachio. The shell color of Jumbo Pistachio (Kaleh Ghochi) is dark white and its kernel is dark red.
