Standard is defined as “TS EN 16163- Thermal Insulation productions for buildings- products made from expanded polystrene (EPS)- properties . EPS is a thermoplastic material, typically White, with a closed pore in foam, obtained from petroleum by polymerizationof styrene monomer. In special productions, there are productions in gray/black tones where the particles are processed to refect long wase radiation. In the EPS products obtained by inflating and fusing the polysyrene particles, the blowinfgas used to inflate the particles and obtain the foam is “pentane”. The pentane, an organic component, is displaced by air during production and very shortly after production, after allowing the formation of numerous small pores in the particles. The pentane gas that turns on turns into CO2 and water oopor (H2O) already present in the atmosphere with the releaseof the pentane, still air is trapped in a small number of closed porosity cells (3 to 6 billion in 1 m3 EPS depending on density) found in the material. 98% of the material is still air; 2% is polystyrene. The material passes through the pre-blowing process after being supplied as raw material in small particles. At this time, the pentane gas in the particles displaces the air and the desired density of the material is achieved at this stage to a large extent. Afterwards, expanded particles resting in the special silo are fused to each other with the help of water vapor in the mold and the properties of the material are obtained. As a result of the merging of the grains, a continuous mass formed by the polygons merged with each other without a space between them appears in the view of the whippet. Subsequent production steps will vary depending on the area of use of the material. The thermal conductivity rating value is 0.030 ≤ lambda ≥0.040 W/m.K. Usage temperature is between -50/+75 oC. It can be produced as plate and mold in different dimensions and technical specifications according to purpose of use.
