The width of 1,400 mm (55.1 inches) 4.) Diameter 1,020 mm (40.2 inches) The KBA PRISMA 8pp offset press is engineered for 4-over-1 to furnish greater flexibility in colour newspaper printing. Its one-around plate cylinder addresses the widespread shift towards newspaper targeting be expanding options both for the pagination (two-page jumps) of the individual sections and the number of sections. The KBA PRISMA can print the same number of pages as a one-across, one-around (2:1) press but with only half the number of printing units, so the initial capital outlay is lower, the press requires less manning, takes up less space and can be made ready faster. Dispensing with the collect option offered wish two-around presses enables the KBA PRISMA to unite the flexibility of a one-around press with the enormous output of a two-across machine.  The printing units on the KBA PRISMA are all H-type and can be configured either as full or partial units in line or as a tower for 4:4 or 2 x 2:2. The four-high tower has two operating levels and, at around 5.5m (18ft) is neat and compact. The printing units can double as imprinters for split editions. A maximum rated output of 70,000 copies per hour shortens the time lag between news events and news reports. There is a choice of cut-offs from 470 to 578mm (18.5-22.75in). Maximum web width is 1,450mm (57in). The KBA PRISMA incorporates KBA DRIVETRONIC shaftless drives for the printing units, reelstand, infeed unit, draw rollers in the superstructure and the folder. Sophisticated console technology for press presetting and production monitoring make for easy handling. Thanks to its logical modular design it can be extended easily at any time.
