Rip Teeth (tearing Knife)

When the tunnel boring machine (TBM) is used for construction of subway tunnel, railway tunnel, water tunnel and urban underground pipeline network, the rip teeth is arranged higher than the cutting knife, and is generally installed in the blade carrier among the cutter head spokes. The common rip teeth is in the form of oyster knife. The cutting head is overlaid with carbon tungsten alloy with high strength and good wearing resistance. The cutting width of rip teeth is smaller than that of cutting knife, generally 1/2-2/3 of that of cutting knife. When tunneling, the rip teeth cuts the stratum in advance of the cutting knife, cuts out grooves on the working face and loosens the stratum, which is in favor of the follow-up cutting knife operation and avoids the cutting knife from cutting the stratum in advance to effectively protect the cutting knife.
