DESCRIPTION
The graviola or soursop (Annona muricata) is a tree that grows in tropical areas, mainly the Peruvian Amazon. It yields a fruit with green skin and a bittersweet flavor. Its
acetogenins, discovered in 1976 by Dr. Jerry McLaughlin of Purdue University, give it properties similar to those of certain products used in chemotherapy. Other parts of the graviola
plant besides the fruit are also used.
