The respiratory nasopharyngeal nasal swabs and is used to collect tissue mucosal cells from a person’s nose, and then sent for testing for virus detection or flu disease diagnosis. The
nasal swab collecting kit has great coronavirus collection effects and no inhibition of bacteriostatic interference, which ensures highly reliable test results. This medical or lab grade nasal or
pharyngeal samples diagnostic kits is commonly used in suspected various types of influenza diseases caused by the coronavirus family like SARS or COV-2.
The nasal specimen swab goes in through your nose and is pushed to the back of your nose for virus sampling. Rotate the swab to collect any nasal or pharyngeal viral specimens that are
usually found in that section. Then the nasal sampling swab is removed and placed into a sterile viral transport media for nasal swab transport, which preserves the nose or throad virus samples
for the subsequent delivery and analysis. This virus sampling process is best done by professionals.
Nasopharyngeal Nasal or Throat Swabs:
The nasal throat swabs usually apply a sterile dacron or rayon swab with a flexible, plastic shaft. The material from the nasopharyngeal swab is dispersed into the liquid medium. Some
laboratories recommend removal and disposal of the swab, while others suggest transporting the swab along with the medium.
Virus Transport Medium Tube
Liquid transport media or virus transport medium fluid tube are designed primarily fortransporting swabs or virus samples released into the medium from a collection swab. Virus transportation
tube is used to transport viruses in active form to the lab or hospital for isolation, especially when collection of the specimen on a swab is appropriate.Liquid media may be added to other
specimens when inactivation of the viral agent is likely and when the resultant dilution is acceptable.
Material of Liquid Transport Media:
Typically, liquid media are composed of buffers to control pH, protein to stabilize the virus, and often other substances to control osmolality or onto which the viruses can adsorb.
A nasopharyngeal swab test is the most common test to detect #COVID19. Here’s the proper procedure for collecting a sample with
disposable nasal sampling swabs and tubes:
Collect samples from the nose of throad with flocked swabs
-Tilt patient’s head back 70 degrees.
-Insert swab into nostril. (Swab should reach depth equal to distance from nostrils to outer opening of the ear.) Leave swab in place for severalseconds to absorb secretions.
-Slowly remove swab while rotating it. (Swab both nostrils with same swab.)
Place the tip of collected nasal pharyngeal swabs into a sterile nasal swab transport and provative fluid vial for preservation
Snap/cut off the applicator stick, break off the excess virus samples to avoid cross-infection
Tighten the nasal swabs transport vial caps
Deliver the nasal or throat swab sampling tube to the lad or hospital or virus testing or viral detection
