GPPS (General purpose polystyrene)
General-purpose polystyrene is
a thermoplastic resin that is a colorless, odorless, odorless, shiny, transparent beaded or granulated solid. The density is 1.04~1.09, the transparency is 88%~92%, and the refractive
index is 1.59~1.60. Under the action of stress, birefringence is produced, the so-called stress-optical effect. The melting temperature of the product is 150~180°C, the thermal decomposition
temperature is 300°C, the heat distortion temperature is 70~100°C, and the long-term use temperature is 60~80°C.
GPPS is low water absorption, in a wet environment can still maintain its
mechanical properties and dimensional stability. Excellent electrical properties, volume resistivity and surface resistivity are high, and independent of temperature, humidity changes, are not
subject to corona discharges. Radiation resistance is also very good.
Application
Food packingDue to the transparency of GPPS and
excellent rigidity, electrical properties and printing performance, especially good hygiene and low cost, it has broad application prospects in food
packaging.
Electromechanical industry, instrumentation, communication equipment industry.Instrument
housing, lampshade, optical parts, instrument parts;Acid trough, telecommunications parts, high frequency capacitors, etc.
Daily necessities.Bottle caps, containers, decorations,
buttons, combs, toothbrushes, soap boxes, cigarette boxes and toys, etc.
