The peach or
peach is a food of plant origin, typical of nature, since it is not industrialized or processed. It is within the group of simple carbohydrates (fructose), because it is the most prevalent
macronutrient.
It
provides few calories, a large amount of water (which facilitates the hydration of our body), fibers, sugars, vitamins and minerals.
If
consumed whole, its contribution in fibers causes greater digestive work, which generates greater satiety and contributes to the proper functioning of the digestive system. In addition, it helps
keep glucose and insulin from rising rapidly in the blood.
Within the
fruits, the peach belongs to the group of those of yellow/orange color. The only difference between fruits of different colors is the contribution of vitamins and minerals. This is why the
consumption of fruit must be varied, that is, varying colors and textures.
Its forms of
consumption can be whole, in preparations, in smoothies or in juices, among others. Consumption in the form of juices is not highly recommended, since you are only taking the sugar from that
fruit (natural sugar, but sugar in the end for metabolism), sharply raising blood glucose and generating little satiety. Therefore, the whole fruit is recommended.
It
is rich in water, so it is especially recommended for people who drink little water or who practice sports or have an active life.
Peaches
provide good amounts of vitamins A, group B and C, which protect us against free radicals.
It
is a food with a low caloric level, therefore, it is ideal for all types of people, even for those who are overweight or have diabetes.
They have
potassium, to favor a good functioning of the nervous and cardiovascular system.
The low sodium
content of the peach makes it an ideal fruit for people with high blood pressure.
Its phosphorus
content favors the correct formation of bones and teeth.
The
antioxidant action of beta-carotene (mainly in your skin) helps reduce the risk of diseases such as cancer.
Due to its
contribution in magnesium, it helps us to prevent hypertension, cardiovascular problems and even diabetes.
The iron
contained in peaches, along with vitamin C, help prevent iron deficiency anemia.
They help us
keep hair, nails and skin healthy and young.
Thanks to its
antioxidant content, it helps us take care of our immune system and increase defenses.
The fiber contained in peaches helps prevent blood sugar spikes, making it an excellent tool for maintaining adequate blood glucose levels
