Macallan Reflexion The Macallan Reflexion represents the natural colour and beauty of The Macallan – a true reflexion of the foremost influence of first fill sherry seasoned oak casks.This incredible whisky has been given its character both in colour and in taste in part by the maturation in smaller hogshead casks allowing a greater surface area of wood to interact with the whisky – in this case Spanish and American Oak casks were used in the maturation process. The result is spectacular both in its rich colour and its its sublime complex taste. Their unique size and shape give the spirit maximum contact with the copper, helping to concentrate the ‘new make’ spirit and provide the viscosity and rich, fruity, full-bodied flavours so characteristic of The Macallan. There are fourteen of these curiously small stills, crafted from copper, each holding an initial ‘charge’ of 3,900 litres.
