Typically, this kind of machining is done in climate controlled rooms. You should have a formscan w/probe or talleysurf machine to check this dimension. Parts are currently made on 4-axis CNC screw machine with cross-drilling capability. There is a secondary heat treatment, that can distort part. The part is typically ground prior to heat treating.
