The ice making unit should have a production capacity of 100 kilograms per hour. The refrigeration system should use photovoltaic (PV) arrays to power direct current (DC) compressors. It should also have thermal storage modules made from phase change materials to capture cooling from the compressors in order to avoid the need for large battery banks which are more expensive and associated with higher maintenance costs.
