Refined Sunflower Oil

Refined Sunflower Oil Sunflower oil is extracted either by using chemical solvents or cold pressing. Sunflower oil comes in the following types:

High oleic - 82% Oleic, 9% linoleic, 5% stearic, 4% palmitic - most healthy

Preferred by food manufacturers because of it has added stability and neutral taste profile. It will not turn rancid in long-term storage. Ideal oil for frying, baking and other high heat applications. It can be produced through expeller pressing methods or solvent extraction.

Nusan / Mid Oleic - 65% oleic, 26% linoleic, 5% stearic, 4% palmitic - in between

Most common type of sunflower oil and often solvent expelled.

Linoleic – 21% oleic, 70% linoleic, 4% stearic, 5% palmitic - less healthy

It is now produced in very small volumes because of its limitations in fried foods.
